Rhythm
and Rhyme CD (listen to samples) takes your children on a
magical learning journey through the rudiments of rhythm and song. Since
all children learn through their play, I have designed an action-filled
CD which develops some of the basic concepts they will need for
future musical study: the keeping of a steady beat, rhythmic
patterns using hand clapping and percussion instruments, pitch,
tempo and games which involve active listening.
For
parents who want to develop
their children's understanding of music, I have also
created lesson
/ activity plans to use with the songs.
Your child will enjoy playing in Old MacDonald's band, learning the
letters of the alphabet by marching around a circle of plastic letters,
making a rubber spider crawl up higher and higher on their bodies
as the song directs, playing in The Dinosaur Band as well as learning
to form popsicle stick rhythms. They
will also find out how to do "The Macarena" as well as
learn some of the Spanish words in it. These activities are
tested and true, and based on my many years of experience teaching
music to preschool-age children.
